Welcome to module 4 of “Accepting Your Anger.” This is the last module in the class, but that doesn’t mean it’s the last lesson to learn. One of the purposes of how I teach is to base things on principles, so that you can go over them as often as you’d like, and that their application is specific to each person. If I simply told you what to do, not only would that be a level of arrogance I hope I don’t possess, but it wouldn’t be you living your life anymore. Most likely, you came here not wanting anger to take you over anymore, so why would I simply seek to take its place?
In looking at pursuing new behavior, we come to the last part of the path for gaining a better understanding of what emotions are and how they work. By identifying what matters to you, your Values, and exploring the Narratives that structure your life, Behavior becomes the means through which you support both Values and Narratives in a more directed, conscious, and deliberate way.
You don’t get away from consequences, but instead take ownership of what consequences you’re willing to live with.
