Feelings often get bad press, because they are viewed as contrary to, or in opposition to, the supposed pinnacle characteristic of righteous humanity: our rationality. This is not at all an accurate appraisal of what feelings are, but as a socially sanctioned means for avoiding the nature of our humanity, such a view does a really good job.
Let’s consider feelings as part of the continuum in our assessments of the nature of reality, who we are, and as an initial point of reference for how we’re going to behave in support of who we believe ourselves to be.
