Lesson four of deconstruction and healing expands on the ethics and morality we covered previously, seeing how ethics is the bedrock for how we create meaning and purpose in our lives. Just as you were deciding what is good and right as a believer, so now you’re doing the same, and nothing has changed except the realization that the god you thought was real isn’t.
The responsibility rests on you. That’s the message of humanism and a naturalistic ethics. The universe isn’t going to show up for you more than it already has, in providing everything needed to choose the direction of your life, and deal with the consequences of every cost/benefit and opportunity cost that a decision has.
